What better way to celebrate two decades of service in Latin America than with A Celebration of Service.  More than 200 people attended Luke 9:2 Ministries first formal fundraiser and ‘friendraiser” which was held on April 2, 2019 at the Hilton Franklin Cool Springs. Guests were treated to heart warming videos, filmed in Honduras, which illustrated the three pillars of our nonprofit’s ministry: medical/dental clinics, installation of water filtration systems, and a formal theological training program for Honduran pastors.  Dr. Darrell Gwaltney, Dean of Religion at Belmont University, provided the keynote address, inspired by his participation in Luke 9:2 Ministries medical mission trips and pastoral training seminars.

“Many who attended the Celebration of Service dinner were unfamiliar with Luke 9:2 Ministries. I am grateful to those who came, heard, and generously donated in support of this important work,” said Beth Ann Yakes, M.D.,  Luke 9:2 Ministries’  board chair.

Celebration of Service event sponsors included Presenting Sponsor Green Hills Pharmacy who has been serving MiddleTennessee since 1974.  Additional sponsors included other Nashville-based companies excited to support the comprehensive care that Luke 9:2 Ministries is providing to over twenty rural Honduran communities.  Many of our guests were moved by the work being done by the ministry, resulting in over $54,000 being raised to support ongoing efforts.  The ministry is excited to form new partnerships with many of the evening’s guests who are anxious to lend their expertise, skill-sets, and volunteer time to help create healthy families and healthy communities in Honduras.
